Talking Cars 402: Driving the 2023 Honda Pilot
Plus, do cars still have useful bumpers these days?
Main theme: We take the cover off our new-for-2023 Honda Pilot. We discuss some major changes it has gone through, and a few moves that Honda made that may surprise potential buyers. What hasn’t changed is that the Pilot remains a solid choice for a family vehicle, with its easy-to-access three-row seating configuration and user-friendly controls.
This is the fourth-generation Pilot, and it stands as the largest and most powerful SUV in Honda’s history. Unlike some recently redesigned SUVs—such as the Toyota Grand Highlander—the Pilot is doubling down on V6 power, and eschewing fuel-saving hybrid technology. (Read our Honda Pilot first drive.)
Audience question: We answer a question about whether or not cars still come with 2.5- and 5-mph bumpers.
